I completely understand, as art is a bit more nuanced; it's not as straightforward as the rug "mistake" I called out. Regardless, you can still use the cardboard and/or painter's tape tip, as this would still provide you with a visual reference, which should help!

Thanks for sharing your personal experience! While yes larger rugs are more expensive, it does make a world of difference to utilize the correct size.
